The NZ Young Kennel Club (NZYKC) provides opportunities for young people to be active participants in canine activities and to act as a conduit to education, leadership and social interactions.

What is the NZYKC...

  • The New Zealand Young Kennel Club is for all New Zealand youngsters aged up to 20 years old who either own or just enjoy being around dogs. Whether you choose to compete with your dog or not the NZYKC has something to offer you.

Our aim is...

  • To provide opportunities to develop leadership and social responsibility and to develop courtesy, sportsmanship and self discipline.
    To educate young people in the care and training of dogs.
    To encourage a sense of responsibility in dog ownership.
    To enable young people to participate in dog related activities.
    To encourage friendship, enjoyment and also respect for all members.
    To promote activities which fulfill the foregoing aims
